Vijayadashami is watched for various reasons and celebrated diversely in different parts of the Indian subcontinent. In the southern, eastern and northeastern parts of India, Vijayadashami marks the finish of Durga Puja, recollecting goddess Durga’s triumph over the wild ox devil Mahishasura to help reestablish dharma. In the northern and western regions, the celebration is synonymously called Dussehra (likewise spelled Dasara, Dashahara). In these districts, it denotes the finish of “Ramlila” and recalls God Rama’s triumph over the Ravana. On the specific same event, Arjuna alone crushed whole Kaurava armed force consisting of 100,000s of fighters, Bhishma, Drona, Karna, Ashwatthama, Kripa, Duryodhana, Dushyasana, Shakuni and so on – there by altogether citing a characteristic case of triumph of Good (Dharma) over underhandedness (Adharma). On the otherhand, it denotes a love for one of the parts of goddess Devi, for example, Durga or Saraswati.
